Default Titles you wish didn't exist

I used the search feature and didn't see anything about this, so I thought I'd start a thread. We all know how many titles are available today, so I was just wondering what titles you'd like to see removed and wish didn't exist.

Here are my thoughts:
  • Legendary Defender of Ascalon
  • Legendary Survivor
  • Commander
  • Gladiator
  • Hero
  • Champion
  • Guardian
  • Vanquisher
  • Legendary Master of the North

So those are my thoughts. I only chose the PVP ones because I don't play it and don't really like it when I do. And I hate hard mode with a passion, which is why those were included. I wish if they have to have hard mode they'd make it not so "hard." Legendary Survivor is such a pain to get and sooo frustrating if you die so close to the title. And LDOA? Don't get me started, who wants to death level and do all that grind? Sure it's great to have but still. What does everyone else think?

All of them.

Guild Wars wasn't meant to be a game where you grind ranks, it was supposed to be skill > time.

Instead of all those titles implemented, Anet should have given us new areas, missions, and quests.

I hate to say this first Wolf...but you best toss that flame suit on now.
It's good to have an opinion...shows you actually care for this game.
BUT........
HARD mode IS HARD for reason, many gamers enjoy the challenge..instead of rolling face on the keyboard, in easy mode...

I wouldn't remove any. Removing any titles from the game would mean that thousands of players would have had their time wasted. It would also mean that people who may enjoy going for those titles would not be able to, and there would therefore be less to do in the game. If I didn't want a title, I just wouldn't go for it, simple as that.

I would, perhaps, tweak some of them. I would probably make survivor just start from the beginning if a death occurred instead of just making it impossible. Almost everyone uses Fronis Irontoe's dungeon nowadays anyway, so it's not like it can lose any prestige (not that titles should really have prestige. The pursuit of titles should be an enjoyable venture, not something you do to look cool). And even if nobody used that dungeon, it'd just get harder and harder to get by playing through the game normally (less quests and missions to do if you die later in the game).

I would also probably make wisdom and treasure hunter account based, just to reduce the annoying transfer-all-golds-and-salvagable-items-to-that-title-character factor.

For the most part, titles don't bother me. Gives you something to do when you're not... doing whatever it is you do.

You don't want them? Don't grind for them. Simple.

Didn't exist, easy.

Zaishen, Hero, Drunkard, Sweet Tooth, Party Animal, Dwarven, Vanguard, Norn, Asura, Lightbringer, Sunspear (although love the skills).

Reasons:
Zaishen and Hero=The emote, it bugs the crap to see people spamming them thinking they are gods in the game.

Zaishen, Drunkard, Sweet Tooth, Party Animal: The four most pathetic in terms of how to get. Stand and click a few buttons, joy.

Norn, Asura, Vanguard, Dwarven, Sunspear, Lightbringer: They add too much grind. The reason why I don't add Kurzick and Luxon is because there are 4 ways to get those points (AB, FA/JQ, bounty, and quests/missions), only 2 for the others (bounty and quests/missions). If they were to add other ways to get those titles, I'd be fine with them, although I'd set the bounty to act like the Kurzick/Luxon bounties, give a direct benefit not a "kill this many get these random things."

Those are my thoughts.

What? You think hard mode should be less hard? I...I really don't know how to reply to this.

Anyways, I'd have to say the reputation, sunspear, and lightbringer titles. Grind for benefits, although optional, is ftl, at least in Guild Wars. I'd also say legendary defender of ascalon, because of the way you have to obtain it. They should have at least made it possible to get by actually killing monsters, or quests.

You want HM to be easier? You DEFINITELY don't use Ursan, Imbagon, Sabway, etc.

You cant spam these...lol

Anyways, like people said before...Norn is probably the only one I would tweak/remove...Ursan takes away from peoples creative-ness, lol. I mean Sometimes you get those nubs that once they get Ursan no other build really exists. (i.e an old friend of mine) lol...

Keep the title, tweak the skill...

All titles except Champ.
maybe keep HM ones: guardian and vanquishing. and maybe also keep cartographer. PERHAPS gladiator.

All of them. Even though I was ecstatic when I saw that first picture of the monk with all the titles (you know, the 1,000+ missions protector title ), and the game probably wouldn't have survived without titles, I wish it could be like it was before factions. Imo, PvP and PvE were both a lot better before factions. New prof/skills/grind kind of ruined them after a while. I miss the days when my guild did 5 man SF and 55/SS UW every day (nowadays most guilds I've seen just grind out titles/ursan everything to death). Oh well, GW probably would have lost way more players if there wasn't so much grind.

PS: Hard mode just made monsters have more health/energy/speed. Imo they should have just had better AI, balanced mobs, and random skill bars (I know it's harder than it sounds).

Remove this link with titles to PvE-only skills.

Make an attribute called "PvE Mastery" or something (that's probably not a good name but whatever). Have points in this attribute line scale with PvE skills.

Leave all the titles and whatever there, I could give a damn less about them.

Remove all PvP useless ones. Hero, Champion and Zaishen, for the most part. They're not achievable (sp?) but people think they're someone with their rank 9. The rank discrimination there is just... Yeah, high.

I'm not sure. I don't care about titles, personally, and if people want to go for them, that's their choice. It's a waste of time, in my opinion, but I'm playing a video game, right?

LDoA( in it's current state)

Probably a few more, just the ones i thought of offhand.

I say none. If we didn't have them, what would we all have being doing for the last 6 months to a year? People keep going on about the grind and money sink, who said you HAVE to get them? You CHOOSE to grind them out to have them.
